These
young cats have put together their own club, Le Crescent, where they
play their original compositions through the night to daybreak. They
took the prix des concours at Vienna and at La Defense and recorded
their first album in Macon. With Coltrane and Mingus as the point of
departure they are now spreading their wings to enter their own territory.
This album is a definite „must hear because the heat is on with these
guys, the raw desire to play so much in evidence, that the contrast
to the gutless, complacent jazz so much in evidence nowadays is startling.
