On February 9th 1998 Alby Cullaz, the bass player, died after a sudden illness.This close friend of ours was on the road for several years with Simon Goubert and Christian Vander.
We would like to pay homage to his work by releasing a record of Alby Cullaz-Michel Gaillier-Simon Goubert trio, a performance chosen from recordings made over nearly 10 years of regular touring.
This concert will be issued on the AKT label and show the group at the height of its tight paying demonstrating the enthusiasm and single-minded purpose which always lay at the heart of this exceptional trio. With the passing of jazz has tourned; but also, deep in our hearts, a very special sound we will never forget.
